An exciting opportunity to join the Qatar Airways Group Medical Department as Health Technician. The role you will assist in the triage and health assessment of patients by conducting basic health checks and an extensive range of patient health assessments as part of the Group Medical team.

Your duties would include:

  • Conduct basic health observations and assessments in collaboration with the Primary, Occupational & Aviation Health Practitioners (Nurses and/or Doctors) to ensure the highest standard of health service provision.
  • To assist in arranging and managing appointments with administration colleagues to meet departmental operational requirements.
  • Assist in Medical Certificates/Sick Leave validation for Cabin Crew with common uncomplicated diagnosis and be able to identify and escalate patients with abnormal parameters to the relevant clinical team.
  • Maintain computer databases for tracing and monitoring results of Medical Assessments and other health services.
  • Ensure that all medical equipment is well maintained/calibrated through periodic preventive maintenance checks and reporting.
  • To keep accurate and adequate medical consumable stock levels and ensure that expired items are appropriately disposed of.
  • To support operational readiness by maintaining an up-to-date list of medical consumables for  procurement on a periodic basis.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
  • Perform basic clinical tests such as visual acuity, BMI (weight and height), urine testing, blood Pressure, blood glucose, ECG, and audiometry etc. to assist with services such as patient triage, regulatory medical examinations, and pre-employment health screening. To escalate abnormal findings to the relevant clinical team.
  • Assist with the delivery of health education and wellbeing programs across QR Group, to promote safe and healthy workplace environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join our Group Medical team. The ideal candidate should possess the following:

  • Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor’s level with minimum 2 years relevant experience.
  • Must currently or have previously worked within the healthcare sector
  • Previous experience in an aviation or occupational health setting would be a plus
  • Should be proficient in computer applications such as; windows, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint etc. for medical staff database.
  • Nursing or allied health qualifications and experience would be a plus
  • Experience in performing spirometry, and/or audiograms preferred
  • Should have excellent communication skills
  • Should be well organized.
  • Should be able to address a large audience and deliver health programs and presentations.
