Job Purpose

 

Enabling the success of students to reach their potential through the implementation of the extracurricular SABIS® curriculum and through the consistent use of the SABIS® teaching methodology. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completing all lesson plans according to the outline set by regional office. This includes beam, acrobatics, vaulting box, trampoline, and team floor exercises.
  • Developing and implementing drills and activities related to the pre-set points of a lesson following the outline set by Regional Gymnastics.
  • Teaching lessons according to the SABIS® Gymnastic Curriculum and following the SABIS Point System®.
  • Establishing protocol and testing at the beginning of each year to assess the skill level for gymnastics.
  • Developing a team of 15 students for competitions in each grade level and train competitions. This includes, but may not be limited to, the development of written practice plans, performance tracking, and associated departmental reports.
  • Assisting students in developing positive skills and knowledge to encourage an active lifestyle.
  • Planning and developing the end-of-year show with all grade levels.
  • Attending and judging competitions between SABIS® schools.
  • Accompanying students by bus to competitions to help ensure their safety.
  • Completing all required forms for students in training (including accident forms, SLO® record charts, etc.).
  • Taking care of gymnastics equipment, including organization, set-up, and pick-up.
  • Maintaining effective student discipline. Reporting infractions to the Supervisor/Head Supervisor through the use of the discipline sheet and, if necessary, following-up with a written incident report.
  • Communicating weekly with the Head of the Department to discuss issues and concerns.

Ideal Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in a related subject matter and/or equivalent
  • English Proficient
  • MS Office needed components
  • Communication Skills
  • Ability to work within a team
