The General Technician will be responsible for providing maintenance repairs in the hotel, public area and administrative offices.

Education & Experience

 

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a General Technician in a hotel
  • Requires attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Diploma or degree in relevant field is a plus.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, professionalism and learning ability.

Fundamental Requirements

 

  • Implement and handle preventative maintenance of all equipment and update appropriate logs.
  • Diagnose and/or assist with repairs of equipment including motors, starters, breakers, chillers and associated equipment throughout the entire hotel.
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Respond to service requests regarding maintenance of rooms and equipment in guest rooms or public area in a timely manner.
  • Respond to all emergency conditions such as fires, power failures, etc.
  • Clean all stations in Engineering, grease traps, plumbing stoppages and maintain an organized department and hotel.
  • Install or relocate any additional equipment or existing equipment when necessary.
  • Assist with energy conservation program (Wyndham Green) in the hotel.
  • Install electrical and mechanical systems for renovations, outlet additions and associated equipment and provide electrical set ups for exhibits including maintenance of those set-ups.

General Requirements

 

  • Fix minor plumbing problems such as unclogging drains, lunging toilets and repairing leaky spigots and faucets.
  • Perform miscellaneous minor repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs and patching holes in walls.
  • Maintain daily logs of operation, maintenance and safety activities.
  • Become thoroughly familiar with hotel’s emergency procedures and perform assigned duties per hotel and departmental procedures.
  • Communicate with guests when necessary to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Follow safe working practices and conditions within the department.
  • Maintain inventory and safe storage of chemical stock.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Management.
