The College of Health Sciences (CHS) is home to a number of exciting undergraduate and graduate programs in the health sciences. From nutrition and rehabilitation sciences to biomedical sciences and public health, our range of offerings is designed to meet the needs of Qatar’s growing health sector. Position Summary: 

The B.Sc. in Nutrition & Dietetics is established under the Department of Nutrition Sciences. The program is seeking to recruit a qualified candidate for an academic position in Nutrition at the level of Assistant/Associate/ Full Professor, beginning January 2024.  The candidate will be required to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conduct research, and contribute to the department, college and university services.

Duties & Responsibilities
– Teach courses in the area of expertise such as (but not limited to) human nutrition, nutrition assessment, medical nutrition therapy, food service management, community nutrition, nutrigenomics, research methods.

– Supervise research projects and theses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

– Contribute to the research profile of the college through research grants and publications.

– Assist in the community service, marketing, and outreach activities of the department programs.

– Contribute to various committees at the department, college, and university level.

– Engage in professional development activities/training to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay updated about advancements in the field.

– Other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Department

Qualifications
1. Ph.D. in Nutrition or related field with a focus/experience in clinical nutrition- Registered Dietitian status would be preferable
2. Applicant should demonstrate active role in both collaborating on and leading independent research, including grant writing and submission.
3. Strong peer reviewed publication record
4. Experience in teaching and supervising post graduate degrees
5. Ability to lead as well as to function as a strong collaborator on a multidisciplinary team
6. Familiar with Educational technologies used in higher education sector
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills
Required Documents
