Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and oversight to work teams across architectural, construction, civil, mechanical, and electrical specializations in large-scale projects.
- Implement engineering systems, methodologies, materials, and computer applications to ensure effective project delivery.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes, regulatory standards, and engineering design procedures across all specialties.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support talent development within the department.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with internal and external stakeholders.
- Leverage practical global experience, preferably in the Middle East/Saudi Arabia region, to navigate project intricacies and cultural considerations.
- Collaborate with project management office (PMO) to develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets in alignment with client requirements.
- Facilitate effective communication between the engineering department, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met and potential issues are mitigated.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide mentorship to engineering staff to foster professional growth and enhance team capabilities.
- Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with engineering deliverables by implementing robust risk management strategies.
- Ensure that all engineering designs and solutions adhere to client specifications, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring the engineering business department meets or exceeds their expectations.
- Champion a culture of safety, quality, and innovation within the engineering business department.
- Lead or participate in meetings, workshops, and presentations related to engineering aspects of the project.
- Drive cost-effective and sustainable engineering solutions by optimizing resource utilization, managing budgets, and seeking innovative approaches to project delivery.
- Collaborate with the business development team to support the proposal and bidding process by providing technical expertise, project insights, and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Oversee the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, best practices, and quality control measures within the engineering business department to ensure consistency and excellence in project execution.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in engineering to identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and value-added services.
- Act as a liaison between the engineering business department and other organizational units to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and cross-functional synergy.
- Engage in contract negotiations, review and approve engineering contracts, and ensure compliance with project specifications, legal requirements, and client expectations.
- Lead or support the resolution of technical issues, disputes, or claims related to engineering aspects of the project in a timely and professional manner.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science from a Ministry-accredited university.
- Minimum 12 years of hands-on engineering management experience in major projects, with a focus on design engineering, new systems, and site engineering services. Extensive supervision experience, particularly in procurement, construction, contracts, and quality assurance.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in leading work teams across architectural, construction, civil, mechanical, and electrical specializations in large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in engineering systems, methodologies, materials, and computer applications.
- Deep understanding of industry codes, regulatory standards, and engineering design procedures across all specialties.
- Proven track record in continuous improvement and talent development support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Practical global experience, preferably in the Middle East/Saudi Arabia region.
