ENOWA plans to utilize various technologies, including large-scale solar PV, wind power, pump hydro-station, geothermal energy, and clean-fuel gas turbines – as an integrated decentralized solution to meet the increased electricity demands due to a high degree of electrification. 

The candidate will work on projects involving these technologies and various execution strategies, with construction starting in August 2024 and continuing through 2030.

Expectations 

The Procurement Engineer will be responsible for coordinating the procurement activities for the development and/or implementation of the assigned assets. This role involves sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials and services according to NEOM procedures, ensuring that all procurement processes comply with project requirements and company standards.

Approach 

  • The procurement engineer will follow NEOM procurement rules, policies and strategies, ensuring alignment between these and project goals. He/she will identify and contribute to the evaluation of suppliers, the negotiation of contracts involving , and the liaison with and management of the related stakeholders (internal and external) including but not limited to engineering, project management, and finance teams .
  • The procurement engineer will monitor market trends and suppliers relative to the products procured, the process of materials/equipment/products/services delivery from inception to delivery and payment.
  • The procurement engineer will prepare/support the preparation of, review, submission, amendment,  distribution, follow- of  Purchase Orders and Purchase Requisitions as well as any other administrative document required for the procurement process. This will involve resolution/contribution to the resolution of issues related to procurement such as delivery delays, quality concerns, or pricing discrepancies and provision of ad-hoc risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
  • The procurement engineer will store appropriately and maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other data relevant to the procurement process.

  • Effective monitoring of and contribution to on-time delivery rate of procured materials and services,
  • cost savings achieved/minimization of overspend,
  • compliance with NEOM procurement strategies and policies,
  • effective monitoring of supplier performance and relationship management,
  • optimization of procurement cycle time,
  • accurate storage of procurement records and documentation.

Experience and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and supply chain management.
  • Experience with procurement software and tools.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
