Ramada By Wyndham Manama City Centre is now seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing to join our team in Bahrain.

Job Summary

 

The Director of Sales and Marketing under the business supervision of the General Manager and within the limits of established Corporate/Sales policies and procedures, oversees and directs all aspects of the Sales and Marketing activities. His/her responsibilities include overseeing the planning and development of promotional strategies and marketing plans; oversees and assists with the development and implementation of the sales and marketing plans; management of the sales and marketing team and reporting on effectiveness of the plan.

Education & Experience

  • 2 to 3 years as DOSM in the 4/5 star hotel
  • Degree/Diploma in a Marketing/Business Administration or any related field
  • Hotel industry work experience demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
  • Ability to manage team
  • Proficiency in property management system
  • Strong media, presentation and computer skills

Fundamental Requirements

 

  • The production of the overall annual revenue plan, budget for the hotel, incorporating an action plan strategies in order to ensure that the objectives of sales & marketing plans are achieved.
  • To prepare the marketing plan of the hotel with the coordination of hotel management team.
  • To lead the sales team and provide all guidance to achieve room nights/F&B Target.
  • To carry a regular sales call along with the sales team and monitor all call activity.
  • Make sure revenue target is achieved in line with set budget.
  • Keep a regular contact with local media and use the leverage of the PR Communication
  • Plan/carry out/local and international marketing activity to agreed budget and timescale and integrate team sales effort with other departments marketing activities, egg Food and Beverage promotion, telemarketing etc.
  • Make sure all outstanding payments are collected from local and international market.
  • Make a regular sales call to top producing accounts and solicit new accounts.
  • Follow competitor’s activity and advice the management accordingly.
  • Entertain top producing accounts in the hotel and make sure they are acquainted with the hotel.
  • Make sure the hotel is exposed in the international Hospitality media and regular press release is sent, whenever any key event is happening at the hotel.
  • To motivate the sales team especially during tough time and give proper training.
  • Directs all sales activities of the sales personnel to ensure that they meet the goals of the sales plan.
  • Plan and priorities sales activity and customer contact prospect toward achieving agreed business, including managing departmental expenses.
  • Introduce new Marketing programmers and it mode of operation, including PR, Advertising Strategy.
  • Recommends to G.M as appropriate, and coordinates all methods of maintaining and increasing business volume. This includes the analysis of the changing market trends, advertising, sales promotion, personal selling, publicity, community relations.

General Requirements

 

  • Participate in major local/ regional/international trade shows and local hotel association meetings to maintain good customer data base and to promote the sales of the hotel.
  • Meets with all influential clients and ensures post meeting evaluations are conducted.
  • Make sure the hotel rates are updated in major distribution channels and of course to all travel agents and tour operators.
  • To keep daily contact with the front office and see the status of hotel occupancy and advice the sales team to take all necessary action.
  • Recruit, manage train and motivate direct reporting sales staff according to company procedures, policy and recruitment law.
  • Establish and maintain effective employee relations.
  • Establish and maintain files on major hotel accounts.
  • Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for the sales and marketing department.
  • Communicate with the advertising company and ensure that product is delivered as per the highest standard and on time.
  • Make sure all corporate companies are provided with a proper rate and updated accordingly.
  • Recommends to General Manager direct mail campaigns to reach specific markets.
  • Organizes and accompanies site inspection trips to hotel by major clients.
  • Disseminate sales related information to other departments as appropriate.
  • Maintains a high level of exposure for the hotel locally and internationally and major marketing areas through sales solicitation, telephone contact and written communications.
  • Maintained and develop corporate image and reputation and protect and develop the hotel brand via suitable PR activity and intellectual property management.
  • Plan and manage internal communication and awareness of corporate direction, mission aims and activities.
  • To make sure all hotels promotional materials are updated and merchandised in relevant areas and customer outlets.
  • Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests’ and associates’ health; security and safety, as well as protect and conserve the environment
