What this job involves

  • Providing highest-level leadership, direction, and management of project resources (internal and external), responsible for all project commercial requirements.
  • Ensuring work undertaken in accordance with an agreed project brief, company procedures and the stated governance requirements
  • Reporting both formally and informally on financial position and business development initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities for product improvement and demonstrate a genuine interest in marketing and business development
  • Managing a team in the commercial staff during the execution phase, ensuring coverage for projects and profitability.
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with diplomacy and tact and a strong focus on customer service and project stakeholders
  • Ensuring that stakeholder needs and expectations are met with regard to commercial probity and value and that the supply chain is treated fairly and equitably by establishing communication and information sharing approaches to deliver success.
  • Aligning and planning the work in accordance with the approved project programme and reporting on progress as required. Establishing effective methods to learn from experience and to mitigate future risks.
  • Ensuring that all people in the team are aware of their responsibilities for health and safety and that all necessary protective gear is provided and is in good working order.
  • Establishing individual training plans and ensuring training and development commitments are carried out in a timely manner so that the team is fully resourced with competent and experienced people.

 

Desired skills and experience for this

  • Previous experience working in a similar role in the Middle East
  • Experience of construction sequencing, recovery plans and resource allocation; on a dynamic, fast track programme
  • Experience in managing a team and collaborate with other senior managers to effectively manage operations of the site, inputting effectively
  • Working knowledge in the delivery of large projects
  • Ability to contribute to the management of a high performing team that continuously outperforms expectations and objectives
  • Ability able to write informative, concise and meaningful reports
  • Ability to motivate and energise staff and contract partners by building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions
  • Possess excellent organization and communication skills
  • Adopt a results-focused mind set, using initiative wherever possible and taking personal responsibility and accountability to ensure necessary action is taken to deliver excellence, value and quality.
  • Degree in related subject (BSc Quantity Surveying)
  • MRICS
