BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.  We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

The Depth Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance, continuous improvements, and support activities for off-aircraft maintenance deliverables for Salam Fleet Operations. The role encompasses delivering integrated maintenance services through the Salam Support Solution Contracts to meet RSAF Operational and MODSAP requirements. This involves ensuring a cost[1]effective, safe, and auditable maintenance service that aligns with RSAF’s operational demands and agreed Solution KPIs, managing maintenance authorisations, and consolidating RSAF and Saudi National staff within BAE Systems Service Delivery

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible for:

·       Lead and oversee maintenance operations, ensuring compliance with Salam MOE and quality standards.

·       Manage performance metrics to support cost-effective deployment and

·       Consolidation of RSAF and Saudi National staff.

·       Implement continuous improvement initiatives, measuring standard metrics, identifying improvement opportunities, and monitoring new processes.

·       Present and facilitate process improvement events, using team building, data analysis, problem-solving, and project management skills.

·       Manage risks associated with Depth Maintenance, ensuring timely and quality deliverables within set budgets.

·       Act as the primary point of contact for maintenance support solution matters with partners, providers, and sub-contractors.

·       Ensure compliance with engineering processes and assurance, consistent with the Salam Operations Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and Quality Management System.

·       Ensure adherence to Salam MOE, reflecting the current Depth Maintenance organisation at Taif.

·       Verify qualifications and experience of maintenance responsible post holders.

·       Maintain Maintenance Performance Metrics for effective deployment and staff consolidation.

·       Highlight Depth Maintenance risks through the Salam governance and safety management systems.

·       Communicate non-compliances within the Depth maintenance solution to relevant authorities.

·       Ensure maintenance is performed per Approved Maintenance Data Set and standards; escalate data integrity issues appropriately.

·       Maintain sufficient qualified staff, providing necessary training to ensure competence and currency.

·       Assess staff competence; ensuring appropriate engineering authorisations are in place.

·       Promote a safety reporting culture, supporting proactive hazard analysis and safety documentation.

·       Provide maintenance guidance to RSAF, addressing potential safety and delivery concerns.

·       Plan and implement Depth maintenance support activities to meet RSAF Operational requirements.

·       Conduct briefings on the safe and effective delivery of the Depth maintenance solution.

·       Embed a Just Culture’ within the maintenance organisation to resolve safety related issues effectively.

·       Engage with Maintenance Management Stakeholders, ensuring involvement in Safety Management System reviews.

·       Foster functional development of Maintenance tagged staff, and create/support Succession and Saudisation plans.

·       Provide day-to-day direction for direct reports, ensuring adherence to quality standards.

·       Enhance organisational output by eliminating non-value-adding tasks using continuous improvement techniques.

·       Deputise for the Depth Senior Maintenance Manager as needed.

 

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION

The post holder must have:

·       Extensive practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment.

·       Proven experience in a relevant management role.

·       Recognized technical qualification (NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC, or technical apprenticeship).

·       Extensive knowledge of EASA Part 145.

·       Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise engineering personnel at all levels.

·       Broad aerospace and defense industry knowledge.
