We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Digital Consultant to join our Middle East Digital team within Mott MacDonald based in our Abu Dhabi, UAE office. You will be joining a diverse team who are passionate about what they do, leading digital delivery of Design and Construction projects, supporting the provision of digital advisory services to clients and enhancing digital knowledge and skills across the office. You will use your analytics and coding skills to create compelling data visualizations, develop automation workflows and bespoke solutions to support the variety of projects and activities. You will have opportunities to coordinate with our global digital teams to push the boundaries in creating digital solutions.  

 

The responsibilities and duties of the role can be split into two areas – digital advisory and project delivery. They include but are not limited to, the below:

Digital Advisory

  • Take a delivery role in helping shape solutions to meet enterprise client needs.
  • Be a proactive participant in the digital market and take opportunities to enhance the Mott MacDonald brand and highlight our capabilities.
  • Participate in the provision of digital advisory services to our clients and assist in converting digital advisory opportunities to prospects and prospects to projects.
  • Prepare Information Requirements and BIM Execution Plans.
  • Develop processes, workflows and document management in line with ISO19650.
  • Identify opportunities in new projects and assist with planning at both project tender and delivery stage.
  • Provide integrated data analytics solutions for multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Produce Business Intelligence Dashboards from various data sources.
  • Research into emerging BIM & Digital technologies.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities to add value to clients through the use of BIM & Digital.
  • Create presentations to key stakeholders, attend meetings and support workshop facilitation, working to deadlines and direction whilst contributing to the development of new digital ideas across Digital.

 

Project Delivery 

  • Engage with project teams and assist them in shaping strategies, adopting new ways of working and accelerating progress in unlocking the value of data and digital tools.
  • Liaise with internal teams to produce tools and platforms to enable them to efficiently deliver projects.
  • Support project teams with:
  • Preparing proposals with BIM & Digital requirements.
  • The digital delivery of projects as a BIM/Digital manager.
  • Reviewing models and facilitating coordination workshops for projects.
  • Provide technical advice on software and technology involved in the delivery of projects to the BIM processes and workflows.
  • Deliver kick off meetings and workshops to enable project teams to collaborate.
  • Help promote and enable the use of Digital Processes and tools in projects.
  • Maintain data sources for project databases.

 

Candidate Specification:
Experience and Knowledge

  • Appropriate experience of the production, development, and management of BIM data and coding/scripting and data visualisation in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Professional Membership of Engineering Council organisation preferred
  • Degree related to architecture, engineering or construction desired.
  • Specialist knowledge in the implementation, use and development of Building Information Modeling (BIM), Computer Aided Design (CAD) and integrated Project Delivery (IPD).
  • Working knowledge of British and ISO industry standards and data/information exchange protocols.
  • Working knowledge of engineering contracts.
  • Knowledge of IT and network infrastructure principles.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles
  • Working and demonstrable knowledge of BIM technologies and current emerging engineering technology and Digital trends including BIM, IPD, Data science, Automation & Digital Twins.
  • Experience in understanding complex requirements from projects and interpreting them to deliver a problem definition.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write professional reports for review and consideration by senior Mott MacDonald staff.
  • Excellent communication and client facing skills will be required to liaise with clients.
  • Self-motivated, curious and a can-do attitude.

  • Experience using Microsoft’s power platform, data visualisation and automation toolkit (Power Automate, PowerApps and PowerBI)
  • Experience with Grasshopper (Rhinoceros3D), Dynamo (Autodesk Revit), and Python or C# within those environments.
  • Experience with software packages commonly used in the AEC industry (Autodesk Forge, Civil3D, Revit, Infraworks, Fusion360, Inventor, etc).
  • Experience with Python, Javascript, (Node.js, three.js, etc), JSON, HTML, CSS, REST, .NET, and #C.
  • Hunger to expand technical knowledge and learn new skills.
