Your Role as a Commis I
As a Commis I, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support the smooth operation of the kitchen. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will contribute to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
- Prepare special meals or substitute items according to recipes and standards.
- Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to ensure proper cooking.
- Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator, maintaining food safety protocols.
- Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and food garnish for appealing presentation.
- Maintain food logs to track usage and inventory.
- Monitor the quality and quantity of food that is prepared to meet our standards.
- Communicate assistance needed during busy periods to maintain efficiency.
- Inform Chef of excess food items for use in daily specials to minimize waste.
- Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out of stock menu items to ensure accurate service.
- Ensure the quality of all food items, maintaining high standards.
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist.
- Prepare cold foods with attention to detail and presentation.
