As Business Development Manager you will be part of a larger team within the Commercial department, responsible for providing seamless and customer-focused solutions to support the achievement of business growth in Qatar through promoting freight services, gaining new business, and developing and retaining existing customers.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for local business development by acquiring new accounts and developing market share with existing customers to an agreed annual target
- Prepares a BD plan and manages the sales cycle, consistently monitors, and achieves set targets
- Manages the on-boarding of new accounts to ensure fulfillment of all requirements and smooth assimilation
- Generate leads, set appointments, and present business proposals to potential customers through various communication channels, including face to face meetings, telephone calls, emails, etc.
- Prepares prompt and precise presentations, plans, and communication exchanges with prospect customers
- Manage and maintain pipelines, respond to requests for information in a timely manner and remain proactive and responsive to prospective customers
- Conducts review meetings with internal stake holders including the account management, operation & logistics teams, and finance department
- Study the market inclusive, but not limit of competitors, carriers, market trends, fluctuation and change etc.
- Reviews the Interdepartmental, Inter Sectional and Client SLAs periodically. Recommends review of contracts and SLA’s where service levels exceed or cannot cope with requirements.
- Any other related duties assigned by the direct supervisor from time to time to meet business exigencies
Educational Qualifications & Certifications:
- Diploma / Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management or equivalent
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Logistics & Freight Forwarding industry with exposure to sales and BD
