College Profile: The College of Education at Qatar University was established in 1973; it is the first higher education institution in Qatar, and the only institution responsible for teachers and educators preparation to this day. The College of Education continues to adhere to its educational principles and its insightful vision that aim at graduating individuals who contribute to the country’s development, progress and prosperity.Through the academic, research, training and consultant distinctive programs it offers, the College of Education seeks to prepare educational leaders with the knowledge, skills and positive attitudes that enable them to be innovative and responsive to the needs of the Qatari community. Furthermore, the College of Education opts to raise the level of teaching through the effective partnerships with various community institutions and stakeholders. The language of instruction in the College of Education is Arabic language, except for the courses that require otherwise. The College of Education obtained the academic recognition for its programs through the International Foundation for the Accreditation of Teacher Programs (IRTE), which approved the college’s programs over the years 2010 – 2012. After that, the college obtained the academic accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Programs (NCATE) in 2016 to 2023. |

Duties & Responsibilities | ||
1. Faculty members are expected to provide up-to-date reports involving teaching activities and student advising as assigned by the department 2. Faculty members will be responsible for course development and participate in curriculum and program development 3. Meet all instructional and advising responsibilities as specified in the policies and procedures (refer to Part-4 within this handbook) 4. Participate in scholarly and research activities which enhance their professional development and contribute to their discipline 5. Serve as appropriate in the department, college and university committees 6. Provide professional services to the University and community
