We are looking for an Area Mechanical Completion Manager for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Doha, Qatar

Start Date: May 2024

Contract Duration: 36 months

Qualification and Experience Required:

Knowledge and/or Experience

  • 20 years in Project Execution, with a strong background in mechanical completion of systems with experience in fabrication and construction of large green field construction activities.
  • Proven experience with systems completion management and associated databases.
  • Required to be inventive on construction execution and methods, bring experience from other large and complex projects, in particular LNG Plants and associated utilities.
  • Experience with major and first tier EPC Contractors, Sub-contractors and Vendors involved in the oil and gas industry.
  • Requires the ability to influence technical decisions of EPC Contractor and its sub-contractors and vendors to achieve a flawless construction completion and transition to pre-commissioning and completions.
  • Experience working within multi-cultural Projects.

Technical and Business Skills

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
  • Technical background as a discipline engineer and experience as a Project Engineer, Field Engineer, Construction Superintendent or Manager with solid project execution and systems completion experience.
  • Demonstrated capacity to take workload, work with accuracy, take initiatives, be inventive and can multi-task.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Job Purpose

  • Manage all Mechanical Completion (MC) construction activities pertaining to the assigned scope of EPC-1 works (Process, Utilities, or Inlets & Offsites) for the project from participation in driving construction activities required for mechanical completion to hand-over of sub-systems and systems to the Pre-Commissioning Team in accordance with the Completion Sequence. Ensure close control on the schedule and key Project and Progress Milestones and identify enablers to support EPC-1 Contractor in achieving Ready for Start-up for each handover area.

Reporting & Relationships ·

  • Reports to the company EPC-1 Construction Division Manager.
  • Direct reports: None.
  • Coordination with Area Construction Managers and additional specialist work discipline superintendents supporting the construction and completions activities.

Job Context & Major Challenge(s)

  • The position holder will be located at Site ensuring flawless transition between construction and pre-commissioning activities.
  • “Start with end in mind” Project perspective with the necessity to achieve a smooth and flawless construction execution and transfer to the commissioning team to secure LNG Trains 8, 9, 10 and 11 Hand-Over at Effective Date plus 54, 63, 69 and 75 months.
  • Working in a highly visible Project environment with large capital exposure for EPC contractor and its sub-contractors and vendors.
  • Working with an EPC Contractor, organized as a Joint Venture, requires additional skills to ensure that the EPC Contractor JV Directorate serves the interests of the Project. This position will require a close coordination and interaction with the EPC-1 Construction Division Manager, EPC-1 Area Construction Manager, EPC Construction Supervision team and Sub-Contractors (Area General Sub-Contractor and scope specific or specialty Sub-Contractors).
  • Works in a dynamic, multiple locations team environment that has high expectations for flawless Project Execution in safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.
