Description
Key Roles & Responsibilities • Direct monitoring of operational activities assuring compliance in accordance with established Safe Systems of Work and quality standards • Provide information to applicable worksite staff to assist them to adhere to the zero harm management strategies, consistent with site/project needs and in accordance with Milaha HSSEQ Management Systems • Support worksite staff and supervision in complying with established HSSEQ plans, Risk Registers, Safe Work Method Statements, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis etc., providing subject matter input where required • Conduct daily, weekly and monthly compliance inspections and audits of operational activities to measure performance and compliance with regulatory provisions (Legal, Contractual, Industry Standards, Procedural, etc.) • Conduct field observations and inspections of pre-start, work methods statements, authority to work permits, high risk work process documentation to assure fitness-for-purpose (risk identification and control) and that worksite staff are familiar with, and complying to, listed methodologies • Participate in incident investigations, track corrective and preventive actions to completion, and lessons learned are communicated • Facilitate HSSEQ training as required at a local site level; including Site Management, Supervision, employees and contractors • Utilise processes and tools for measurement, management and improvement of HSSEQ performance • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Decision Making Authority: • Responsible for making risk-based decisions on residual risk level to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) upon implementation of recommended control measures • Has authority to provide advice and recommendations with regards to corrective and preventative actions to contractors within assigned operational unit
Qualifications
Education & Professional Qualification: – 3-year Full Time Degree (Non-Trade) – NEBOSH IGC HSE Certificate or higher – Train the Trainer certification is preferred – Root Cause Analysis certification is preferred – Permit to Work certification is preferred – First Aid certification is preferred Professional Experience: – 3 – 5 years of relevant experience of which 2 years as HSE professional in heavy industry Geographic Experience: N/A Computer Skills: – Good knowledge of Office and web applications; – Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills. Language Skills: – Fluent spoken and written English Market/Industry/Functional Knowledge: – Proven success in the implementation of an effective safety process culture in a multinational environment where perceptions of safety and risk vary considerably
