HSE Manager
- Policy Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE policies in line with legal and corporate guidelines.
- Ensure policies are communicated effectively to all employees.
- Risk Assessment and Management:
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Develop and implement preventative strategies to mitigate risks.
- Training and Awareness:
- Organize safety training sessions for employees.
- Ensure employees are aware of safety and environmental practices and legislation.
- Compliance Monitoring:
- Monitor compliance with HSE policies through regular site inspections.
- Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Incident Management:
- Lead emergency response initiatives.
- Investigate incidents to determine causes and implement preventive measures.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HSE legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal leadership and external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
- Environmental Management:
- Oversee environmental performance and adherence to legal environmental standards.
- Manage waste disposal, pollution control, and other environmental impact areas.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain documentation related to HSE initiatives, such as inspection forms and training modules.
- Prepare and update emergency response procedures and accident reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Extensive experience in HSE management within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing HSE policies.
- Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations specific to the Oil & Gas sector.
- Strong crisis management and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and training skills.
- Ability to foster a strong safety culture within the organization.
Key Tasks and Duties:
- Implement health and safety plans that comply with company policies and legislated standards.
- Conduct safety/regulatory audits both internally and externally.
- Coordinate with HR to ensure physical examinations and medical clearances are completed.
- Liaise with Engineering and Operations teams to assess environmental impact and integrate preventative measures into project planning.
- Manage and lead a team of safety professionals or environmental specialists.
