  1. Preparing monthly performance reports of fire safety equipment’s and AMC Vendors
  2. Complies with NMCSH policies and procedures; and in particular infection control,

safety and quality management.

  1. Identifies potential safety and fire hazards; takes action or makes recommendations to eliminate hazard.
  2. Assures that fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, fire alarms, sprinkler system and fire hydrants are in operating condition; conducts fire drills and participates in fire prevention programs.
  3. Prepare annual fire safety training plan and conduct fire safety/life safety trainings to all hospital staffs including safety facilitiators (fire wardens)
  4. Conducts or participates in employee safety and accident prevention programs.
  5. Supervise the security rounds in order to protect the buildings and grounds against trespassing, theft, and vandalism.
  6. Apprehends persons suspected of theft, vandalism, or trespassing; contacts police and detains suspect until police arrive.
  7. Responds to all fire alarms; determines whether a fire exists; attempts to extinguish fire and contacts fire department.

  9. Performs other duties as assigned  by Fire & Safety Officer and HOD-FMS

                      Additional Job Duties:

  1. Assures safety coverage for an assigned shift by scheduling assignments and overseeing the work In-House security personnel.
  1. Provides training and explains work instructions to Fire Wardens/ERT Members and Contractor’s Workforce as per training schedule or as and when required.
  2. Plans, develops and conducts employee safety, fire prevention and accident prevention programs.
  3. Regularly performs safety and security activities recognized as the most complex and difficult.
  4. Actively participate in JCI accreditation project.
  5. Comply with all OSH and infection control policies, standards and procedures and cooperate with hospital management to comply those requirements
  6. Work accordance with the documented OSH procedures and instructions, specific responsibilities
  7. Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures.
  8. Notifying OSH Hazards, incidents, Near misses and issues and assistance with the preparation of risk assessments, incident reports
  9. Comply with Waste management procedures and policies
  10. Attend applicable OSH/Infection control training programs, mock drills and awareness programs
  11. Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems.
  12. Assist with Fire & Safety Officer & HOD-FMS in developing and reviewing Fire Safety & FMS related policies and procedures.
  13. To develop, monitor and support implementation of the hospital OSHMS in line with Department Of Health Sector OSHMS policies and standards (and other policies and standards as applicable) and entity requirements.
  14. Support to develop objectives and monitor achievement of objectives and compliance with Department Of Health Sector OSHMS requirements across all departments.
  15. To report and provide guidance to the entity OSH Committee, the Prevention and Control of Infection and the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Committee in developing programs and policies for implementing and monitoring applicable OSHMS and Infection Control and Patient Safety standards.

To conduct or participate in incident and outbreak investigations as applicable

Qualifications

  1. Educational level – Acquired the requisite safety management qualifications such as Diploma Fire& Safety/NEBOSH IGC.
  2. Experience – At least two years of experience in a general safety/fire safety & public safety occupation.
  3. Excellent command of oral and written English. Knowledge in Arabic is desirable.
  4. Knowledge of state laws related to the safety of people and property.
  5. Knowledge of the principles of safety, accident, and fire prevention.
  6. Knowledge of first aid methods and techniques.
  7. Knowledge of departmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations related to the safety and security of people and property.
  8. Ability to maintain composure and respond properly during emergencies.
  9. Ability to learn and apply written laws, rules, and regulations related to the work.
  10. Ability to train, guide and evaluate the work of other Fire and Safety Officers.
  11. Ability to determine work priorities and allocate work to other Fire and Safety Officers.
  12. Ability to work independently.
  13. Ability to plan, develop and conduct employee safety, fire prevention and accident prevention programs.
