JOB PURPOSE:
To ensure the quality and safety related equipment of trains are covered and fulfilled, able to work independently or as part of a team, and able to accept responsibility. To be incharge of sending the train in service, able to take decision.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
- To plan and coordinate roll stock maintenance program with the aim of improving the security, reliability, service, condition and comfort of the facilities.
- Supervise the maintenance team, set priorities for off shift repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Oversee all related maintenance activities that include the facilities and production assets, planned and unplanned repairs, upgrades and replacement.
- Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly.
- Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
- Manage and take responsibility for the work of teams who undertake tasks, including routine services, fault finding, repairs and alterations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Diploma or equaling education with 05 years’ experience in Rolling stock.
- Operation Monitoring skills
- Supervised skills.
- Motivated and strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexible & able to change shifts given due notice.
- Knowledge of the Electrical and Mechanical drawing study.
- Troubleshooting skills.

- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
