JOB PURPOSE:
Performs Quality Control (QC) inspection on train parts and sub-assemblies. Make sure all preventive inspection task done correctly with sample inspection.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
- Performs Quality Control (QC) inspection on parts and sub-assemblies of train.
- Performs visual inspection of train parts and equipment to ensure conformance to quality standards
- Identify non-conformance where it occurs.
- Performs all work according to procedure, checklist, engineering drawings, and verbal and written instructions.
- Uses scales, tape, calipers, and micrometer, combination-square and other measuring equipment to inspect parts, equipment, and their proper installation to rail car body. Has the capability of using English and Metric systems of measurement
- Records data and findings from inspections in inspection reports with a high degree of accuracy, completeness, and attention to detail
- Must be able to read and interpret all engineering drawings and blueprints.
- He should be be familiar with Quality standards, as well as the Contract Technical Specification
- Manage quality to meet specific customer requirements
- Manage and maintain the Company’s quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods.
- Performs product inspection in allocated time
- Monitor the use of equipment to ensure it is safe, calibrated and well-maintained.
- Prepare and submit reports to the quality manager
- Defect and rework inspection
- Receiving inspections for an entire railcar at the customers’ site.
- Defect inspection, rework and repaired inspection. Modification inspections
- All paperwork associated with defined work.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Diploma in Quality or related technical degree.
- In-depth experience in a similar role working in a quality-focused industry, ideally Rolling Stock.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of quality & EHS standards.
- Knowledge and experience of promoting safe working practices in a safety critical workplace
- Willingness to travel when required.
- Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development.
