Job Description:
Manor Hall International School is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Social Studies Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching various social studies courses at middle school level. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social studies education and the ability to engage and inspire students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach social studies courses using effective and engaging teaching methods.
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet state standards and align with school curriculum guidelines. Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Design and administer assessments, including quizzes, tests, projects, and assignments, to evaluate student understanding and progress. Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth.
- Maintain a positive and organized classroom environment that is conducive to learning. Implement classroom management strategies to ensure a respectful and productive classroom atmosphere.
- Offer additional help and tutoring to students needing extra assistance, including before and after-school sessions. Provide individualized instruction to address specific student needs.
- Stay current with developments in social studies education and pedagogy. Participate in professional development opportunities and continuously seek to improve teaching practices.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and parents to support student achievement. Participate in departmental meetings, and school committees, and contribute to the broader school community.
- Utilize technology to enhance instruction, including interactive tools, online resources, and digital platforms for remote or hybrid learning environments.
