Responsibilities
The Inspection Engineer role will:
- Report to the Operations Manager with the delivery of all aspects of the oil, gas, marine and other engineering business within the Company, not limited to:
- Preparation and co-ordination of field work
- Data management
- Delivery of completed work-scopes
- Complete inspection reports using Microsoft PowerPoint and Cyberhawk’s cloud-based, visual asset management solution, iHawk.
- Edit photographs and video footage.
- Assess images or video footage for structural defects, damage or hazards.
- Write technical reports in accordance with client guidelines of Anomaly Acceptance Criteria or equivalent.
- Work as a field engineer operating a payload control system.
- Work effectively with drone pilots.
- Deliver presentations of inspection results when required.
- Demonstrate risk awareness and significance of safety-critical management systems.
- Any other reasonable duty as requested.
Knowledge and Skills required
Essential
- Engineering Degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering or Similar relevant discipline with 10 years’ experience OR Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering discipline with 15 years’ experience.
- NDT Level II certification in visual testing.
- ASME Level 1 Plant Inspector certification.
- 10- or 15-years’ experience (depending on education as stated above) in Offshore/Plant inspection.
- Above experience to include inspection of fired equipment, heaters, boilers and flares.
- Demonstrated knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and other conditions causing deterioration or failures.
- Must be willing to live and work in Qatar and potentially travel worldwide and work away from home.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Full and clean driving license.
Desirable
- OPITO Basic Offshore Safety training.
- OPITO or equivalent H2S training.
- Knowledge in basic photo editing and photography: f-stop, ISO, shutter speed etc.
- Whilst training will be given in the role, experience and knowledge of drones could be beneficial.
