About the role

  • You will be responsible for the Development of sporting events and travel products that enable international and domestic access to sporting events. Working in collaboration with internal teams and external partners in order to maximize commercial potential of Qatar Airways sponsorship portfolio. Be lead liaison between Sponsorships, Discover Qatar and Qatar Airways holidays, with focus on supporting go-to-market strategies for sporting events and products. Responsible for managing event ticket inventory and distribution of sponsored events. This role supports the overall business improvement and commercial opportunities with the development of the sports portfolio for events held globally and in Qatar that help to stimulate travel and boost tourism.
  • Operational:
    • Develop a pipeline of sporting events and products that are ready to go to market.
    • Maintain an annual calendar of events and assets library in order for sporting product distribution
    • Recommend suitable sport and entertainment related products and travel packages, with the relevant sporting event in order to create desirable unique customer experiences.
    • Identify distribution channels for sales, and ensure license compliance with relevant governing bodies (e.g. Formula One)
    • Support in pitches to National Governing Bodies (NGB) of Sports for events to be held in the State of Qatar in support of the Government’s national agenda.
    • Collaborate with external partners and internal departments to optimize commercial rights and benefits of sponsorship events.
    • Be accountable for KPI’s and budgets for measuring success, providing commercial modelling and sales forecast of sporting event products.
    • Main focal point for Sponsorship event ticket inventory and distribution to enforce a zero-wastage policy, and work closely with project managers and leads to instill good practice
    • Produce well-structured presentations and toolkits to support sporting event products positioning.
    • Support business commercial initiatives such as Privilege Club Collection.
    • Responsible for sponsorship event ticket inventory and distribution ensuring zero wastage, working closely with Project Manager and their teams to implement allocations
    • Develop a pipeline of sporting products and support go-to-market strategies while keeping a library record of each event and product produced
    • Identify opportunities to support tournaments and events to be sponsored by Qatar Airways, boosting the initiative to promote QR brands on a regional and global level
    • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department
