Trading Risk Manager, Commodities – Abu Dhabi

A rapidly expanding international commodities trading firm, seeks to appoint a seasoned trading risk manager for its Abu Dhabi office. In this pivotal role, you will be tasked with overseeing the intricacies of credit, market, and operational risks on a daily basis, while spearheading the implementation of robust internal risk governance and policies.

Responsibilities entail not only managing financial statements and monitoring credit limits but also conducting continuous calculations of market risk exposure and vigilantly monitoring operational risk incidents. Your routine will involve meticulous reviews of trade transactions for compliance with internal policies and regulations, issuing credit approvals, and promptly escalating pertinent matters to the Risk Committee. Furthermore, you will be conducting thorough due diligence research for clients, integral to the overarching Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance remediation efforts.

Identifying and compiling requisite information to satisfy Know Your Customer (KYC) due diligence protocols, meticulously packaging client due diligence research and documentation for submission. Additionally, you will be tasked with executing and scrutinising negative media alerts from client screenings, promptly escalating where necessary.

The ideal candidate will hold a University degree in Finance, Economics, or Business, coupled with a substantial track record of five to eight years in risk-management roles within commodity trading houses or financial institutions. Your aptitude for problem-solving, coupled with a keen eye for detail and a penchant for daily routine, will be invaluable in this position. Fluent English proficiency, alongside exceptional verbal and written communication skills, is essential. Demonstrated ability to thrive under pressure while handling sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion is a requisite attribute.
