Senior Mechanical Engineer (MEP)

Parsons is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to carry out the mechanical engineering design and design review tasks for all types of projects from conceptual design stage all the way to the tender stage.

In this role,  you will be responsible to carry out different mechanical engineering systems design such as HVAC systems, Plumbing systems, and Fire Protection systems complying with codes and standards, interdisciplinary integration and constructability aspects. You will be requested also to carry out review works for the design drawings, shop drawings, material submittals for these mechanical systems as part of design review tasks / projects where you will be requested to prepare design review reports, attend technical meetings with the clients / designer. Additionally, you will be responsible to in to coordinate your works with other related discipline leads.  You will be asked to prepare BOQ’s, project specifications, and participate in project cost estimates, as well as to carry out estimations of engineering efforts in terms of hours and time for the project proposals Parsons is bidding for.  You will also attend mechanical engineering workshops / discussions in both design projects related aspects as well as construction meetings for running projects on site. 

You need to have good knowledge of working in BIM environment, using Revit MEP in modelling of mechanical works, understanding of BIM collaboration between different disciplines, working with common data environments (Projectwise or BIM 360), and the ability to use Navisworks for the coordination and clash detection purposes.

Qualifications:

15+  years of related mechanical engineering oversight experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field) from an accredited institution 

Full knowledge of all relevant local and international codes and standards.

Knowledge of construction works / inspections is also required where site visits would be needed from time to time for data collection, preparation of site validation reports, resolution of technical issues on site when needed.

Proven experience in the field of design and design review of the mechanical systems for the different types of buildings such as residential, commercial, industrial, Royal, and healthcare facilities.

Proficient in the design and design review of mechanical engineering works with reference to the codes and standards.
