Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for managing operations and to deliver an excellent guest experience while responding to emergencies, ensuring efficient operation of rides and attractions, giving clear directions and instructions, communicating with other departments regarding operational needs, attending and delivering on-going training and maintaining essential swimming, lifeguarding, and basic life support skills.
What will I be doing?
As Assistant Operations Manager, you are responsible for managing operations of the Waterpark to deliver an excellent Guest and Team Member experience.
Plan, book and deliver on and off job training as required to ensure best possible service standards as well as team member development.
Ensure any service delivery deficiencies are resolved and identify any trends and share observations and suggestions with their managers and peers.
- Manage a team of Team Leaders and their respective front line team members to include they’re on and off the job training, daily attendance, grooming, coaching, appraisals and personal development plans.
- Perform pre-operational inspections of rides, slides and attractions and communicate any items of note.
- Ensure guest, team member and contractor safety at all times as it relates to park attractions.
- Ensure that all manufacturer guidelines and SOPs regarding ride dispatch and guest safety are followed.
- Focus on guest satisfaction and interaction within the Operations team along with Team Leader and frontline supervision.
- Serve as a first responder in the emergency action plan.
- Mentor and develop subordinates.
- Instil brand values and standards to maintain quality on a daily basis.
- Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.

- Management experience within the leisure sector
Manage daily operation of the Park’s attractions, including Team Leader, Lifeguard and Guest Relations
Ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent grooming standards
- Willingness to develop team and self.
- Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations.
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- Preferably International Lifeguard Training Program or similar program experience
- Previous waterpark or theme park experience (1 year minimum)
